Failure analysis of heat exchanger tubes of marine condenser

Because of the special operating environment, ships have higher requirements for the corrosion resistance of refrigeration and air conditioning heat exchangers. So, where does the corrosion of marine refrigeration and air-conditioning heat exchangers start? Is there any antiseptic method?

Marine refrigeration system is also an air-conditioning system

It is generally composed of a compressor, a condenser, a throttling mechanism and an evaporator. The condenser is the core equipment in the refrigeration system.

Freon is generally used as a refrigerant in small marine refrigeration systems. Some large marine refrigeration systems also use Freon as a refrigerant in consideration of safety factors.

Why are marine refrigeration systems more susceptible to corrosion?
The shell and tube sheet are made of Q345R material;
The pipe-side medium is seawater, and the design temperature is 35 ℃;
The heat exchange tube is a high-efficiency condensation tube, the material is HSn70-1;
Heat exchange tube blank standard GB / T5231-2001;
High-efficiency condenser standard GB / T8890-2007;
The heat exchange tube and the tube plate are connected by strength expansion;
After leaving the factory, it passed the 2.2 MPa air pressure test, and the pressure is maintained for 24 hours without leakage;
After more than 1 year, the heat exchange tube of the equipment condenser leaked.

Different from the ordinary refrigeration system: the condenser of the marine refrigeration system uses seawater as the coolant, and does not need to be recycled. The salt content of seawater is generally about 3%, which is a natural strong electrolyte. The seawater is rich in oxygen and has a wide variety of microorganisms. These may accelerate the corrosion of the condenser.

What is the most prone to corrosion of the heat exchange tubes of marine refrigeration systems?

In order to understand this problem, experts deliberately studied more than ten sets of refrigerator condensers of the same specification for a fishing boat manufacturing enterprise. Each of the condensers is one set, all operating in the East China Sea.

The following are the basic parameters of these devices:

The medium on the shell side is Freon refrigerant, the design pressure is 1.9MPa, and the design temperature is 110 ℃;
